A time lapse of a weeknight at the Mauna Kea Visitor Information Station (VIS).  Quite a few things can be seen in the time lapse:

  1. Between 10 and 20 seconds in, watch the sky as it gets dark to see quite a number of satellites passing overhead.

  2. Between 14 and 18 seconds in, you can see the crow gather at the west end of the patio for the nightly star and constellation tour which I gave this night.

  3. Around the 13 and 14 second marks you can see the blue and green paths of glow sticks being played with by some of the kids on the patio.

  4. From the 20 second mark onward you can see me doing additional star tours and showing people objects in my telescope (the refractor at the foreground right of the frame).

  5. Near the end of the time lapse the light comes on for the VIS scopes to be taken down.

  6. Later, you can see me observing Mars as it rises and then the moon rises brightening the sky and I pack up and end the time lapse.
