Time Lapse Photography

I’ve been dabbling in time lapse photography for a while.  I really enjoy seeing how things behave on time scales which we normally don’t see.  I’ve posted a few of the time lapse movies below.  Most are quicktime movies, though a few of the older ones are animated gifs.  The files can be large (2-20 MB).  Most of the sequences are at night to mesh with my observing.

Mauna Loa Night

This movie shows an evening (almost eight hours) on Mauna Loa. The view looks out over the saddle toward Mauna Kea.
