I'm currently a postdoc at the Institute for Astronomy at the University of Hawai'i. My research involves studying how young stars interact with their parent molecular cloud, you can read more on my research page.  I'm also an alumnus and big fan of The University of California at Berkeley where I majored in physics and astrophysics.  I've also done a bit of teaching and outreach which you can find on my research and astronomy pages.

My main hobby is amateur astronomy, I've been doing that for about 15 years. I try to go observing at least once a month and preferably more. I also volunteer at the Visitor Information Station (VIS) up on Mauna Kea from time to time.  You can read more about my hobby on my amateur astronomy and astrophotography pages.

I've also been interested in photography for several years.  I don’t get out shooting as often as I should, but my photography page has some photos I thought fit to post.  I’m also now posting photos to my flickr photostream.

I’ve also begun trying some time lapse photography.  I’m still learning, but my attempts are getting better as I gain experience.  I enjoy seeing how things behave on time scales which we normally don’t see.
